My 2 favourite shots from this whole set! The colors, the lighting, the shadows…those MODELS! I am obsessed with how brazen and beautiful and almost rude these shots are. They embody the whole point of why I am drawn to this work. They express a type of beauty we’re often uncomfortable to discuss in the fashion industry. This was a dream project inspired by one of my favourite artists, @michaelastark. Her activism and inclusive artwork single-handedly changed my view of what “inclusive” means. Equal parts beautiful, ethereal, and warped, our team created our version of a Michaela Stark image. These were just SOME of the models hair I did for a recent runway show. I was too busy to get reels of the rest 😵‍💫 14 updos in 4 hours is a new record for me! I’ll never forget it! But weirdly it was some of my cleanest work. I guess what I needed was…pressure? 🤨🤪

With @vancouverindigenousfashionweek underway, I’m proud to present this powerful imagery of indigenous excellence. I was privileged to be a part of the almost entirely indigenous team that created this work. @sarebraids sourced beautiful textiles and jewellery from @yolondaskelton, @indi_city, and @coppercanoewoman. Actress @sjkelley33 was such a strong model i I cant imagine anyone else! Thank you @lindsaytannermakeup for your beautiful work with the makeup. And as always @yhanson_photography nailed the concept! @sarebraids not only helped direct the whole concept, but she did the braids as well.

We’re published in November @say_magazine! This was the most collaborative team project I’ve ever been a part of. We went shopping together for the wardrobe, everyone played their roll in the creative process, and everyone contributed to the story that I put into writing. A few weeks ago I had the privilege of directing the runway show for Lines of Heritage, a stunning event produced by designer @carolinabotelhoatelier, and @vanfashionmarketing to showcase Carolina’s newest collection.
